Working together for Greater clarity & Wisdom

Anne Randerson's academic and training background:

From 2007 until 2021 I worked as a university lecturer, academic researcher, and global consultant and trainer. I created and delivered intercultural training programs, provided consulting and executive coaching services for corporate clients, institutions, expatriates, outplacement candidates and global employees. I was also a Client Program Manager for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) for a US-based relocation company.

During those years, I taught executive education training courses in Cultural Intelligence, Cross-Cultural Communication, Stress Management, and Mindfulness in the Workplace. At several universities, in Belgium and the USA, I taught courses in Global Business Management, Global Studies, Intercultural Communication, Human Development, Leadership, Ethics, International Research, Sociology, and Business Writing. I also taught MBA courses in Intercultural Business Communication in Belgium, Croatia, Serbia, and Vietnam.

Moreover, as a published author and editor, I also offer mindfulness-based creative writing workshops, creative writing coaching, and editing services.

I have spent the past two decades working with writers at all levels, helping them hone their writing skills, edit their stories and book manuscripts, and get their work published.

Upcoming Workshops & Courses

Prompt Your Passion

Explore mindfulness-based writing using fun prompts to collectively inspire & deepen your intuitive expression.

Participants in this new creative writing workshop will inspired by a series of short, in-class prompts in the form pictures. The aim is to boost creativity and deepen each participant's intuitive expression through contemplative practices.

We will start the workshop with a brief mindfulness settling-in exercise-and a poem to accompany the session's theme.

After each writing prompt, participants will be encouraged to discuss their work in small groups. This intuitive creation process is highly motivating; it enhances self-awareness and the flow of ideas and connection with others.

As a creative-writing teacher and published author since 2007, a trained mindfulness teacher since 2017, and a spiritual director since January, 2024, I enjoy fostering unique and brave spaces for participants to gather from all backgrounds and walks of life. This workshop is designed for every type of writer: novelists, poets, screenwriters, playwrights, journalists, essayists, etc., with all levels of experience: from novice writers to seasoned authors.

For this online workshop, we will focus on the collective inspiration derived from a fresh series of fun and original writing prompts. Just bring a pen and notebook... And come as you are!

Next workshop: Friday, June 26, 2026, from 10:00-noon (PT) / 1:00-3:00pm (EDT) / 19:00-21:00pm (CET). Register soon as space is limited: https://writeyourstorynow.org/classes-workshops/2026-06-26-prompt-your-passion-with-anne-randerson-phd/

Client Reviews

"Anne's Creative Writing Course was more than a writing class. For me, it was more of a personal discovery journey. Thanks to the fertile mix of mindfulness, vivid tales, constructive suggestions and inspiring prompts, I was able to awaken my own creativity that had been slumbering deep inside me.

It was also fun to observe how everyone in the group experienced something similar and to listen to their creations and to discover their unique talents and stories.

Anne has the uncanny ability to draw out the best of us, inspiring with her own stories to reach down deep to discover our own. I am now hooked on writing every single day and enjoying the surprising results that come from this discipline. I am grateful to Anne for setting me firmly on this path."

— Anita S.

"I'm only a few months away from the launch of my first book, and I absolutely would not be at this exciting juncture if not for Anne. Regular sessions with her were invaluable to my development from beginning writer to published author, and I continue to flourish with her ongoing support. Anne's sure guidance and steady presence are informed by her deep personal and professional insights into the writer's life, extensive mindfulness training, years of teaching experience, and wealth of compassion, making her an outstanding coach. During each session, I feel seen, heard, understood, and valued by her, as well as lovingly challenged. When the hour is over, I'm always newly informed and re-energized for the journey of growing into myself and my craft as a writer. I'm blessed to have found Anne and can't recommend her highly enough.”

— Laurie D.

"I enjoyed working with Anne, who has a very gentle careful and supportive approach. It really helped me that she offers two ways of supporting—that of a writing coach, as well as transition coach. Having gone through a difficult period in my life, it helped that some weeks I could simply share my inner life and at other times we discussed what I had written. Mindful, kind and to the point—I can really recommend working with Anne."

— Irene, Brussels

"Thank you for the follow up email after the seminar. I truly enjoyed it and hope to attend the next one in November! Creative and intuitive writing is so new to me and I had always dismissed the possibility that I would actually enjoy it as I always struggled with reading throughout all of my education (I recently found out I am most likely dyslexic so that explained a lot). I just lumped writing and reading together I guess.

I found your class to be so helpful and encouraging, so thank you so much!"

— Pattie K.

"I needed a surrogate parent. You know how sometimes you have all the resources you need in you, you are very well aware of this but for some reason, you are stuck or scared? Now, some people cannot see the treasure in you but many can, or sort of, and may want to tell you that all you need is 'a good kick in the butt'.

Well, actually, I believe that most of the time, what you need is the opposite. This certainly was my case. I needed love and support. I needed someone to listen to me, to congratulate me, to tell me that I had made progress and that I was going to get where I wanted. I needed a smile to fill up my open heart. This is what Anne has done for me.

After 3 months, the huge mess that had been piling up for a couple of years on my desk is virtually gone. And my dream has transformed into reality so fast that my body has had to adjust to my new references! It is amazing! Thank you Anne!

So, thanks a million, Anne, for your kindness and see you at the Premiere of my film Pas à pas (Step by Step!) - so evocative, isn't it?"

— Mani

“Thanks for the great conversation about flow. That following day, I had an honest discussion with my manager. Together we came up with some next steps to help me focus on what I do well and what I enjoy.

I'm so relieved and excited about work again. Folks in leadership roles are making the transition really easy for me. Thank you, Anne, for offering some insights at just the right time to help me work through some work challenges!"

— Monica E.

"I would like to compliment you on the use of breakout sessions, the prompts, individual writing time, and sharing our writing and getting feedback from the other class members. That made the class more interesting. The time flew by while taking the class; I was fully engaged; and even disappointed each week when it was time to end. I wish you continuing success and will enjoy hearing about new offerings."

— Jane S.

"I signed up for Anne's four-week class, Creative Writing I, having drifted away from writing for a decade. It was the perfect workshop to get back into the swing of things, receive valuable feedback, learn from other writers, and establish new and useful writing habits. I felt extremely motivated by the assignments Anne assigned, one of which I developed into a competition entry. Anne's class is the perfect springboard to other opportunities, certainly value for money."

— Andrew P

My experience with Anne has been like a before and after haircut. Working with her has given me the tools to understand what writer's craft means, show don't tell, and finding my voice. If I look at my first draft and compare it to my latest, it looks like someone else's work. That is how much I've grown with her professional input. Not only has my journey been tremendously valuable, but I have a greater respect for writers knowing how hard it is to place letters on paper to make beautiful sentences.

— J. Hernandez

"Anne Randerson's Creative Writing I workshop not only provided practical writing tips such as a character sketch worksheet, and two different ways to write about characters meeting in a cafe. She provided invaluable practices on mindfulness, an overall setting of intention for writing, and suggestions to support writing for a lifetime.”

— Carre S.

'I am a writer...' Anne encouraged us to speak this mantra to the morning mirror. A doubtful reflection peered back at first, but as the class progressed, confidence returned a glance and winked.

It has been a pleasure taking two creative writing courses from Anne and I am ready for the next! Anne has inspired us to be curious and bold in our written words.

She gave a warm welcome to all levels and walked beside us as we stepped for more. With Anne's encouraging guidance and passion for the process, I discovered what I needed to become creatively unstuck.

Her richness in prompts, depth in class discussions and texture of weekly exercises has brought my writing to a new level. I love Anne's small group approach. There was something so freeing and yet safe to be amongst writers of all levels. I felt my creativity shift and confidence grow. I welcomed the butterflies batting about my body before reading a new piece. Feedback consisted of positive acceptance as well as fresh ideas to raise the writer's level. Beautiful blend of exactly what I needed. Thank you for sharing your joy of writing Anne! — Lisa Hill

"I had been labouring away at a fledgling novel for many months, and had spent even more years thinking about it. When I worked with Anne I started to make real progress. She not only gave me very useful practical guidance and detailed feedback on my drafts, but also kept me disciplined and motivated. Her sensitive approach, pointing out what did and didn't work, helped me bring the writing more alive, and during the end sessions when we looked back at what I had written previous to Anne's input, I could see a marked improvement in what I was producing. I now approach the craft aspect of new writing with all those valuable tips in mind. Our weekly meets also became a cherished time of calm. They kept me grounded during an intense period of change and transition as I was going through an international relocation at the same time. I was able to set up a regular writing habit with helpful, simple strategies like setting an alarm for my writing routine.

The mindfulness was particularly helpful, as were the visualisations we used to banish those nasty critical gremlins that erode your confidence. Most importantly I think, Anne gave me back some belief in myself as a writer. I became better at trusting the process and able to enjoy it more fully. Each time I left a session, I believed that I could write this story, and that it would be valued and appreciated. It gave me renewed energy to continue on with the project, and I am now well on the way to a completed first draft." — Alison L.

“I'm still in awe on how a simple re-connection over Zoom answered a critical question that has been bugging me for so many years.

One thing about knowing your flow is the peace of mind that follows. It's liberating being sure of the next step. Every setback becomes an opportunity. Every challenge something one actually looks forward to. It's unbelievably crazy good.

We can only connect the dots looking back. How crazy is it that you recommended me for a Ted Talk and helped me realize my talking flow. I feel free. Thank you so much!!!!"

— Maggie K.

"I recently completed a beginner's course in creative writing with Anne, and I must say it was an incredibly enriching experience. The course covered various topics as character identification, dialogues, and descriptive writing. I gained a deeper understanding of storytelling techniques. I was encouraged to experiment with various writing styles, and think outside the box.

The course also provided valuable opportunities for interaction with aspiring writers, sharing our work allowed us to learn from one another and offer constructive criticism. Overall, I highly recommend this beginner's course in creative writing to anyone who wants to explore their passion for writing and unleash their creativity. Whether you're a complete novice or have some writing experience, this course offers a nurturing and stimulating environment to develop your skills and ignite your imagination."

— Emilia Jarvis

"I met Anne at one of her creative writing workshops. It was the first time I attended this kind of training.

Although I felt uncomfortable with the English language because I was still learning the basic rules in English and not yet at the level of writing, Anne put me at ease right away. She has the art and the way to make you discover the artist who sleeps in you. After the workshop, I asked her to coach me in private writing sessions. And here, I really enjoyed finding out how high-spirited and uplifting a person she is. She was committed to reviewing my assignments, advising me on how to hone my writing, and, most importantly, encouraging me to keep going when I felt lost and despondent. She is a competent person and a beautiful soul."

— Amal Lamniai

"My mother passed away the morning of my second session with Anne. And so, the writing coach I had hired transformed into a transitions coach as Anne pivoted to meet my needs.

Anne helped me approach my loss, my imminent retirement, my writing and myself with gentleness and patience. She is incredibly skilled at listening for potential. She built on what I shared, and inspired me to view all the changes I was experiencing as opportunities for self care, personal growth - and writing, too.

We laughed together often, and she helped me take the pressure off of myself. I always left our sessions inspired, with insight about the changes I was experiencing, as well as a new idea to experiment with in my notebook. Anne's follow-up emails also helped tremendously as reminders of the strategies she had offered. I feel very lucky to have met Anne at just the right time. I'm headed into an exciting new chapter of my life with confidence and optimism."

— Betsy F.

“I had been doubtful about my writing capabilities. As much as I wanted to practice the craft, the thought of it and its process were stressful to me. Taking a course with Anne in 2023 changed that. I was surprised how much fun writing became for me. Anne creates a lovely non-judgmental, inviting space in her classes while providing the basics of the writing art, fun prompts, and homework assignments. Sharing my writing in the group became a joy that I was not expecting. I started to appreciate what I was creating. I continue writing with pleasure even today. Thank you, Anne."

— Kasia Skuratowicz

“The conversation with Anne about flow came at a very interesting time, while in the midst of a big transition (international move). While preparing for the move and with a ton of things to do, through this conversation I was reminded of how important flow is and how everything just becomes smooth sailing for me when I find this flow. And I now know what I need to do to achieve flow."
